Top Ten Tuesday 08: Top Ten Books To Read During Halloween

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created by The Broke and the Bookish.

This week’s topic is Top Ten Books To Read During Halloween.

(Not in any particular order.)

  1.  “Deviant” by Adrian McKinty: A crazed cat killer and a shocking twist ending? It isn’t a scary read, but it can be incredibly unnerving at times. Really unnerving.
  2. “Warm Bodies” by Isaac Marion: I love this book, I know you’re all probably sick of hearing this, but it really is one of the best zombie books out there. [Note: this isn’t a YA novel]
  3.  “Gravity” (The Gravity Series) by Abigail Boyd: This is a very interesting story, it isn’t a scary story, but it is one that’ll give you chills as you read along.
  4.  “Rot & Ruin” (Benny Imura #1) by Jonathan Maberry: Maberry is the zombie king. Seriously, if you have yet to read the Benny Imura books (Rot & Ruin and Dust & Decay), then you are missing out. Absolutely thrilling zombie novels.
  5. “Past Midnight” (Past Midnight #1) by Mara Purnhagen: I love the Past Midnight series. It’s truly an exciting paranormal series. If you’re into ghost stories, check this series out. You’ll love it.
  6. “The Marked Son” by Shea Berkley: The way that Berkley weaves the stories together, and the world that she creates…you need to read it.
  7. “Don’t Breathe a Word” by Jennifer McMahon: I can’t find my review on this one, go figure, but I remember it being creepy (correction: incredibly creepy). Especially the ending. [Note: This is not a YA novel.]
  8. “Fury” (Fury #1) by Elizabeth Miles: This is a story about revenge, in which someone loses their live and another finds herself being tormented by the furies. It’s a good, fun read.
  9. “Ashes” (Ashes #1) by Ilsa J. Bick: That ending killed me. Looking for creepy? Look no further than “Ashes”. This. Book. Is. Fantastic.
  10.   “Misfit” by Jon Skovron: An interesting story with demons.

Have you read any of the books on my list? Which was your favorite? What books would you recommend for me to read (using this weeks topic)?
