Waiting On Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted over at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
I decided to go ahead and pick two books this week, mainly becuase Deity doesn’t have a description to post yet (or pre-order links), so naturally I’m using this post to showcase the awesomeness that is Jennifer L. Armentrout.
This week’s Waiting on Wednesday picks are:
Expected publication:November 6th 2012 by Spencer Hill Press
Description from Goodreads: Since Pure hasn’t been released yet, there isn’t an actual description listed for Deity as to avoid spoilers.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of “Pure” from Spencer Hill Press, which I’m currently reading (when I shouldn’t be) and loving. There is a sneak peek at “Deity” at the end of the ARC and lets just say that I’m going to be needing more. Now, please.
And my second WoW pick is…
Cursed byJennifer L. Armentrout
Paperback, 304 pages
Expected publication: September 18th 2012 by Spencer Hill Press
Description From Goodreads:
Dying sucks–and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand. After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows. Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things–including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he’s a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she’s more than interested. There’s just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden’s adopted father, a man she’s sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she’s willing to do anything to hold her sister’s hand again. And hell, she’d also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn’t? But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not’ve been an accident at all, she’s not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life. For real this time.
Here’s the thing, Jennifer can do no wrong. With Obsidian, she makes you fall for the jerkface Daemon (but come on, especially with those bonus scenes, how can you not adore him?). With Half Blood, she gives you Aiden and Seth – and you have to love them both, let’s be honest. But with the awesome male characters, she also gives us kickass female characters. And Cursed looks to be no different. I’ve been dying to read this for a while now. September 2012 is too far away (but we get Pure and Onyx before then, so its all good).
