Cover Reveals You May Have Missed!

There have been a lot of cover reveals lately, so I figured I’d compile a post of the one’s I’ve come across:

The paperback cover of “Glow” (which releases on July 17th 2012) was recently released. While I liked the original cover, I’m really loving the new design:

It seems as though when the second book in a series gets a cover, the first book gets a new cover to go along with it. Such is the case in the Sky Chasers series it seems, too. Below is the cover for “Spark”, book two in the Sky Chasers series.

Spark (Sky Chasers #2) by Amy Kathleen Ryan

Hardcover, 320 pages
Expected publication: July 17th 2012 by St. Martin’s Griffin
Description from Goodreads (don’t read if you haven’t read book one):
Waverly and Kieran are finally reunited on the Empyrean. Kieran has led the boys safely up to this point, and now that the girls are back, their mission seems slightly less impossible: to chase down the New Horizon, and save their parents from the enemy ship. But nothing is truly as it seems…Kieran’s leadership methods have raised Seth’s hackles— and Waverly’s suspicions. Is this really her fiancé? The handsome, loving boy she was torn from just a short time before? More and more, she finds her thoughts aligned with Seth’s. But if Seth is Kieran’s Enemy No. 1, what does that make her?

In one night, a strange explosion rocks the Empyrean—shooting them off course and delaying their pursuit of the New Horizon—and Seth is mysteriously released from the brig. Seth is the most obvious suspect for the explosion, and Waverly the most obvious suspect for releasing him. As the tension reaches a boiling point, will Seth be able to find the true culprit before Kieran locks them both away—or worse? Will Waverly follow her heart, even if it puts lives at risk? With the balance of power precarious and the clock ticking, every decision counts… every step brings them closer to a new beginning, or a sudden end…

“Glitch” is a book I’ve been eagerly awaiting to release. And while we’re only in January (still seven months out from the release), there is at least a cover to go with the book description now…and it’s stunning:
Glitch (Glitch #1) by Heather Anastasiu
Paperback, 320 pages
Expected publication: August 7th 2012 by St. Martin’s Griffin
Description from Goodreads:
In the Community, there is no more pain or war. Implanted computer chips have wiped humanity clean of destructive emotions, and thoughts are replaced by a feed from the Link network.
When Zoe starts to malfunction (or “glitch”), she suddenly begins having her own thoughts, feelings, and identity. Any anomalies must be immediately reported and repaired, but Zoe has a secret so dark it will mean certain deactivation if she is caught: her glitches have given her uncontrollable telekinetic powers.
As Zoe struggles to control her abilities and stay hidden, she meets other glitchers including Max, who can disguise his appearance, and Adrien, who has visions of the future. Both boys introduce Zoe to feelings that are entirely new. Together, this growing band of glitchers must find a way to free themselves from the controlling hands of the Community before they’re caught and deactivated, or worse.
In this action-packed debut, Glitch begins an exciting new young adult trilogy.
If you read “Catching Jordan” and loved it, you’ll be happy to know that there is a companion novel coming out soon titled “Stealing Parker”:
Stealing Parker by Miranda Kenneally

Expected publication: October 2012 by Sourcebooks Fire
Description from Goodreads:
About a 17-year-old girl named Parker who falls for the new 23-year-old coach of the baseball team.

I haven’t really read many books in the steampun genre, but this one looks intriguing:
The Unnaturalists by Tiffany Trent
Paperback, 320 pages
Expected publication: August 14th 2012 by Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers
Description from Goodreads:
In an alternate London where magical creatures are preserved in a museum, two teens find themselves caught in a web of intrigue, deception, and danger.

Vespa Nyx wants nothing more than to spend the rest of her life cataloging Unnatural creatures in her father’s museum, but as she gets older, the requirement to become a lady and find a husband is looming large. Syrus Reed’s Tinker family has always served and revered the Unnaturals from afar, but when his family is captured to be refinery slaves, he finds that his fate may be bound up with Vespa’s—and with the Unnaturals.

As the danger grows, Vespa and Syrus find themselves in a tightening web of deception and intrigue. At stake may be the fate of New London—and the world.

  1. I really prefer the pb cover of Glow. Spark looks pretty too. I didn’t realize there was a companion book to Catching Jordan. I need to read that soon! The Unnaturalists sounds very cool too.

    • Yeah, the PB cover for GLOW is lovely. I think these covers really fit the series better than the old one. I don’t think the companion was really announced before this week, at least I hadn’t heard of it until a few days ago. 🙂
