Giveaway: “The Hunger Games” Edition!
I wasn’t going to post this until March 20th, but I’m too excited to wait! Because I know a lot of you guys are fans of The Hunger Games (really, who isn’t?!), I decided that when I was shopping for merchandise, I’d buy some to giveaway to all of you as well.

If you’ve already entered and would like to change your option to one of the new prizes, just reply to your original comment. I’ll be noting everyone’s preference as I compile the names in a spreadsheet. I can’t guarantee you’ll get what you picked, but if you win, at least it’ll be something cool, right?! Plus, you never know, I may just sneak some extra stuff in with prizes. 😉
How this giveaway will work:
There are six 8 items available for giveaway. In order to win one of them, you will need to be a follower of this blog. You will also need to like Nicole’s YA Haven on Facebook.
- You must be 13 years old or older.
- You must be a US resident (sorry guys! I will have another international giveaway soon, I swear!)
- You must leave a comment on this blog explaining why you love The Hunger Games, along with your e-mail address.
- Only one entry per person (and household!)
The giveaway will run from March 4th, 2012 until 11:59pm March 20th, 2012. The winners will be picked using Random.org and will be announced on the 21st (note: if there’s a specific prize you’d like, please note it in your comment – I can’t promise you’ll receive it, depending on the demand, but I’ll try!)
Update (3/7/2012): There was a screw-up on Amazon’s end, so the bookmark will not be a Gale bookmark (it’s the flaming Mockingjay bookmark instead). I will be ordering a Gale key-chain in place, this way the trio is covered. Sorry about that, Amazon made a booboo. 🙂
Update (3/15/2012): I will be adding in surprises for the winners (I went on a bit of a shopping spree last week).

Nicole's YA Book Haven 
This giveaway is EPIC. I’d love to get my hands on the soundtrack or the movie tie in! I’ve adored The Hunger Games from essentially the beginning of its existence–I read book one in 2008 when it was first published. One of the reasons I enjoyed it so much was the fact that it was the first of any sort of ‘dystopian’ I had ever read, and back in 2008, I was a sucker for action/adventure/suspense novels.

Why I love The Hunger Games:
The dystopian world of The Hunger Games is terrifying, horrible and fascinating at the same time. Also, I’m really amazed how Katniss can stay strong in the hostile and dangerous arena even though she nearly died. Her courage and power continues to inspire me.
Hey! Amazing giveaway…i’m currently reading the book and just love the thrill! ‘A fight to the death’ really gets me hooked to a book….a new genre of dystopian and a story that is loved by people of all ages….cant wait to finish the trilogy and watch the movie!

I’m sure those two are going to be the more popular selections; And I hope I’m lucky enough to snag one. I loved this book because of the dramatic life-or-death plot. That alone is a page turner. I could not stop reading until the last page, and even then I wanted more!

This is one of my favorite book series. It is emotional and packed with action. I love the message of the book as well.

I love this series because it’s the best example of tension, character development, world building AROUND. I can’t wait to watch the movie!! I love the story it tells and the unlikely hero and what she has to fight for. I could go on and on.

I love the Hunger Games because I love any book that consumes me until I’ve finished the story. If it’s 3am and I’m still awake reading, it’s a pretty good chance that the book is awesome.

Cool giveaway! I’d like a katniss lanyard or the pens! I love the hunger games because I can feel what the characters are feeling. When prim died, I was almost in the same state that Katniss was, just sitting around depressed but I was also a bit saddened because Katniss’ story was over! It also got me into the dystopian genre, I read insurgent when I was done.

This has got to be the awesomest giveaway EVER. I love The Hunger Games because 1) The characters are so…different and amazing! They each have such different personalities! and 2) The last book wasn’t very expected. Which is what I love! The ending isn’t a “Happy Go Lucky” ending it’s more like a “bittersweet” ending and I think it’s perfect for the concept of the whole series. Considering all that they’ve seen and done, it’s not that easily forgettable. ): I could read this book a million times and never get tired of it! It’s just that amazing! 😀

I love the Hunger Games; everyone does. 🙂 I love it more specifically because it’s encouraging hundreds of thousands of people across generations and age groups, to read again- and more often! It’s an incredibly intelligent story with strong characters that I personally can’t get enough of. I’ve re-read the entire series twice in the past week, aha. Such incredible stuff.
