Dark Frost (Mythos Academy #3) by Jennifer Estep (Excerpt & Giveaway)!

I have a special excerpt from Dark Frost for you guys today! I also have a giveaway that you’re going to want to enter, so make sure to keep reading!

DARK FROST EXCERPT:

“Well, well, well,” the Reaper girl hissed. “If it isn’t Nike’s Champion, slinging a sword like she actually knows how to use it. I was hoping I might run into you here.”

Her words made my stomach twist with fear, but I pushed the feeling aside. I knew the Reaper girl wanted to kill me. She’d threatened to do so in the memory I had of her stabbing my mom. I supposed I shouldn’t have been surprised that she knew who I was and what I looked like. Professor Metis had once told me that Champions could recognize other Champions, that we were inevitably drawn to each other, attracting and repelling like magnets.

“Yeah, it’s me. Gwen Frost,” I snapped. “Nike’s Champion in the flesh. I know what you did to my mom.”

The girl threw back her head and laughed. She just—laughed. Low, long, and loud. Like it was funny that she’d killed my mom in cold blood. Like it was the most hysterical thing ever that she and her Reaper friends had just done the same thing to a museum full of innocent people.

“Well, I should certainly hope so,” she said. “Killing your weak, sniveling mother was the most fun I’ve had in ages.”

Rage once again filled my heart, blocking out everything else. All my questions, all my worries, all my fears. There was only me and her and my desire for revenge, this burning, burning need I had to make her pay, to make her suffer for taking my mom away from me.

With a roar, I leaped off the dais, raised my sword, and rushed forward—and the Reaper girl stepped up to meet me.

What can I not say about the first, two books 🙂 Touch of Frost had me hooked within the first couple of pages…I was glued to the whole time. Gwen is such a great character that girls of all ages can relate to. She is someone to look up to 🙂 Kiss of Frost, had me hooked as well but it broke my heart. Gwen’s complex relationship with Logan is really intense & had me taking breaks to stop crying. The ending was non-stop action leaves you at the end of your seat wanting more!! I really wish Jennifer could release more books a year, but I guess the waiting makes reading each book that much sweeter 🙂

P.S. I’be gotten my mom hooked as well 😀

  2. NorthmanCullen — Thanks! I appreciate all the nice words about my books. Glad you are enjoying the series.

  3. I initially thought this would be another cliche book series, but after reading Touch of First I was surprised by how caught I became! Sure there was the regular private school drama but in the end Gwen became good friends with the mean popular girl which is not something that usually happens. I like how they become really good friends in the 2nd book and how the action never slows down.

  4. Cordelia — Thanks! Glad you are enjoying the books so far.

  5. I have loved the first two books in this series. The plot never gets old and the story and romance are so interesting! And the action keeps up the fun! 🙂 Keep up the good work, Ms. Estep! 🙂

i loved the first two books! they were an impulse buy at walmart one day when i was avoiding studying & as soon as i finished them i started on the elemental assassin series, which i love just as much. i love when there are side characters who are just as likeable as the main characters. Nott, Daphne, & Vic are some of my favorites. i especially like all they different myths that are tied in, including ninjas. when i read “ninjas” in the first book, it just made my day. i got my mom hooked on all jennifer estep’s books as well, she has read all the elemental assassin books & is starting on the mythos academy series. i can’t wait for more books!!

I love anything that has to do with mythology (especially Greek, it’s a bit of a secret passion of mine) and this series offers such an interesting twist that it’s really hard not to love!

  9. Love the first two books! I was a bit hesitant to read it when my sister introduced the books to me because I wasn’t really into mythology and stuff but after reading it, I was surprised by how much I like it and how it connects to mythology. I’m now on the mythos academy bandwagon! lol Love your writing Jennifer! Thanks for the giveaway!

  10. I thought the first book was rather dull and kind of tedious. Kiss of Frost was ten times better. There was so much more action, heart wrench and just thrill. I love this series mostly because of Kiss of Frost.

  12. Angie — Thanks! Glad you liked KISS OF FROST.

  13. I really like the fact that Gwen’s powers are evolving. She has so much to learn and most of it she must learn as she goes which makes for some interesting reading. Plus, there is the super hot Spartan Logan.
