Final Giveaway!

On Saturday, June 16th, Nicole’s YA Book Haven will be closing. Since this marks the 1 year anniversary of the blog, as well as my birthday, I thought I’d celebrate by having one final giveaway (er, actually two; there is one for the US, and one that is international).

Here is what is up for grabs for the US crowd:

  • Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout (paperback)
  • Chosen Ones by Tiffany Truitt (paperback) — pre-order title
  • This Is Not a Test by Courtney Summers (paperback)
  • Touch by Jus Accardo (paperback)

And here’s a giveaway for the international crowd:

A book of your choice (up to $15) from Book Depository

In order to enter, you’ll need to follow these rules:

Must be at least thirteen years old.

Must provide a valid e-mail.

Must leave a comment telling me your favorite book [so far] this year, and why.

Must state whether you’re a US resident, or if you’re entering as part of the international giveaway (BD must ship to where you live).

You have until 11:59 PM (Eastern Time) on June 15th, 2012. I’ll e-mail winners the following day.

I want to end this by saying thank you to each and every one of you. This past year has been crazy; things haven’t been great in my personal life, but you guys have always been supportive and understanding, and I want to say thank you for it. Really.

Happy reading, everyone. 🙂

If you’d like to keep up with me after this blog closes, you’ll find me over here: www.NicoleSobon.blogspot.com – I have a ton of upcoming projects, so I’ll be blogging like crazy over there.

  3. My favorite book this year was Incarnate by Jodi Meadows. I love the characters and the fantasy world and the unique reincarnation concept. Another favorite of mine which was released in 2011 is Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park. It’s got awesome quirky characters, a family drama wrapped up in a mystery, and great dialogue:)

Thanks so much for the giveaway, and thanks so much for having dedicated so much to this blog:)

  4. Aww, I’m really sad to see you go, and I wish you luck on all your future endeavors. And thank you so much for this giveaway! So many awesome books!

My favorite books this year so far have been either Cinder by Marissa Meyer, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, or The Book of Blood and Shadow by Robin Wasserman. Cinder was one of the most richly constructed, original novels I’ve read. I’m not sure how to classify exactly because it isn’t scifi or fantasy but kind of a medley of the two, but I love everything about it, and the way Marissa reworked the Cinderella fairytale and turned it into something else is brilliant. It also reminds me tons of my favorite anime Sailor Moon. TFIOS was the most heartbreakingly beautiful, witty book I read this year. I loved Hazel and Augustus’ story and I cried buckets throughout the book. Augustus Waters is too perfect. The Book of Blood and Shadow is the most compelling, suspenseful novel I’ve had the pleasure of reading, and my favoirte contemporary of 2012 so far. I just loved the way Wasserman crafted the story, and I couldn’t figure things out or predict things before they happened at all – it was just very well plotted. NOra/Chris have been added to my list of tragic ships I wish had happened. They had the best frioendship and could have had the best relationship.

    Thank you again!

One of my favorite books so far this year have been The Fault in Our Stars. So so heartbreaking and beautiful. I will never forget that book. I also loved Insurgent. I am a huge fan of this series and the dystopian world.

It’s sad to see you go but thank you for all your book-ness love. My favorite book this year so far would be Clockwork Prince as I adore each and every one of the characters in the story, I equally love both Will & Jem and can’t decide who is better. Overall a wonderful book I enjoyed most.

Hope things goes well for you 🙂

  7. I’m going to miss youuu! :(( Wish you the best!

I’m an INT follower… and my favorite read is Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. This book is absolutely mind-blowing! And Daemon is HOT! xD
Thank you for this final giveaway!

  8. I’ve mostly been catching up on some older series like Game of Thrones, Elemental Assassin, Stephanie Plum, and Jack Reacher.

I think the only 2012 releases I’ve read so far are the 3 newest Rogue Angel books. I’m a huge fan of this series. Great mix of archeology/history with magic/supernatural.

My favourite book this year.. I have a few favourites, like Insurgent (Veronica Roth) and Partials (Dan Wells). But I’d love to read Obsidian! I’ve read so many good reviews about it.. I hope I’ll get my hands on it soon! 😉

I’m an international reader by the way!
    Thanks for this awesome giveaway!

  11. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog over the past year, Nicole, and I’m sad to see you go. But I completely understand you’ve got to do what’s right for you. Congrats on all your accomplishments with your blog and happy birthday! I’ll look for you on your blogspot and see what you’re up to.

Thanks for the very generous and awesome giveaway too! I’m in the US and there’s just a few books I’ve rated 5 stars this year – Cinder, The Fault in Our Stars, Wonder, and Something Like Normal are some of them I guess in each case I liked the originality of the stories and the character connections. I like books that make me feel and each of these did.

    Thanks again!

Oh this makes me so sad!!!! 😦 I’ll be looking forward to reading some of your works!

I have a lot of favorite reads so far:
    – Obsidian by Jennifer Armentrout, because Jennifer is absolutely amazing and knows how to write a book. There are too many words to describe this amazing book.
    – Grave Mercy by Robin LaFevers, because historical fantasy/fiction is one of my favorite genres (YA and adult), and Robin does such an amazing job with this book. The setting, the characters, the scheming plot, the style of writing… it’s all so beautiful and intricate. And Robin definitely knows her history.
    – Slumber by Samantha Young, because it’s such a beautiful re-write of Sleeping Beauty. I love the creation of magic, kingdoms, and the love story in this book.
    – Storm by Brigid Kemmerer, because I love the different perspectives that are shown in this book. We get to see inside the heads of five males, and one female. I love Brigid’s writing style. I feel like if this weren’t paranormal, it would feel sooo real. Brigid is a genius. I love, love, LOVE this book.
    – Unraveling by Elizabeth Norris, because it’s an insanely WOW book. There is so much going in the book, and everything is so carefully placed. I love it. And the ending is really sad, but the next book will soon be out (next year, so long from actually).

So, those are only a few and why I love them. I hope you’ll get the chance to read some of them.

    And now, the giveaway!
I’m over 13 years of age.
    My email address is lilleetleet(at)verizon(dot)net

I live in the U.S., BUT could I enter in the International giveaway? I already own several of the titles you offer for the U.S. giveaway, and if I win, it wouldn’t be fair to the other U.S. entrants who may not own those four amazing titles. Is that okay? I may not win anyway, but I feel like if I enter the international giveaway, it’s fairer for the U.S. entrants. I hope this makes sense.

Thank you so much for having this blog for a year! It’s been a really good year to hear your thoughts on so many great books. And now you have No Place Like Home released! That’s really awesome. I wish the best of success to you, as a writer and a person. And happy birthday! However old you are, I hope you spend your days well. I know you’ve said that you haven’t had the easiest year in your personal life, and I am tremendously sorry for that. For you to have problems in your personal life, and still blog for us is really amazing. I hope everyone is as grateful for your time as I am.

I hope you read this behemoth of a comment and not want to smack me… it’s really long 🙂

Thank you again, for your blogging time, and your kindness, and this giveaway!

  13. Wow I still can’t believe I won’t be seeing your posts any more. I am sad to see you go and good luck with everything. Thank you for this awesome giveaway, this is very generous of you. This year has been filled with so many incredible books and plenty I have so fallen in love with. I will say my favorite so far has been The Vincent Bothers by Abbi Glines. Not that my other books aren’t great but I definitely read this book the fastest. Abbi Glines is already one of my all time favorite authors and she never disappoints. All her series are completely amazing and she knows how to write very swoon worthy males. The Vincent Brothers I read in one day and even though I am 100 percent a Beau Vincent fan, I definitely I had to know Sawyer and Lana’s story. There was a great message in this book about not settling for anything less than what you want, and also being afraid to put yourself out there. I extremely highly recommend reading this book or The Vincent Boys(the first book if you haven’t read it yet). This series is amazing along with everything else she writes. Thank you again for this great giveaway and this great blog. I am a US resident and over 13 years old.

Sucks to see you leave! But thanks for the giveaway! Wish you the best of luck!

My favorite book is Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout. I totally fell in love with the story and the characters! Katy makes me laugh on what she thinks about Daemon. Dee is super adorable. Omg Katy’s mom and her pijamas and let’s not forget my man, Daemon Black! It’s truly an amazing novel that I love with the bottom of my heart:) <
Hope to win one of the books!!

  15. You will be missed, Nicole. I enjoyed reading your reviews and hearing your thoughts on new books.

My favorite book that I have read this year was The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater. I loved this new take on the supernatural with the water horses and the budding romance between the independent Puck and the brooding Sean.
