Teaser Tuesday 13: Half-Blood (Covenant #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

  • Grab your current read
  • Open to a random page
  • Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
  • BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
  • Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Paperback, 281 pages
Expected publication: October 18th 2011 by Spencer Hill Press
Pures weren’t supposed to use compulsions on halfs who weren’t in servitude; it was considered highly unethical since compulsions stripped people of free will, choice, and everything.

Damn Hematoi. Not that they ever cared about ethics.

My review will be posted later tonight after my “The Juliet Spell” review (should be up in a few hours).

Also, if you’re interested in reading “Half Blood” – most of the vendors released the book as of last week (such as Amazon). I’d suggest getting a copy now if you can.

Free E-Book: “Daimon” by Jennifer L Armentrout

“Half Blood” by Jennifer L. Armentrout will be coming from Spencer Hill Press this October. This book has been getting a lot of great buzz from YA book blogs and I’m anxiously waiting to read it. For those, like me, wanting to get your hands on “Half Blood”, there is something that may interest you. Spencer Hill Press is giving away “Daimon”, which is the prequel to “Half Blood”, on their site for free! Now, you can still purchase the e-book for $0.99 from Amazon, they also have it available in paperback for $3.99 (Purchase here), but you also have the opportunity to print the novella too.
Here’s some more information on “Daimon”:

“Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing ‘I smite thee!’ as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life.”

For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals—pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she’d been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she’s pretty much accepted that she’s a freak by mortal standards… and that she’ll never be prepared for that duty.

According to her mother, that’s a good thing.

But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return—the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death… because she’s being hunted by the very creatures she’d once trained to kill.

The daimons have found her.
